Here we go then, it’s been a few years since I last watched this film at least 10. I have fond memories of this movie. So the big question is did it hold up to what I remember? Well frankly it’s not quite as good as I remembered. Johnny Deep plays George Jung the real life story of a larger than life character. However the movie seems dated and slow paced, there’s some classy performances throughout the film but it never really seems to become the entertaining epic that it should have been.

There’s an entertaining story within this film but it’s just not brought to life as well as it should have been. Deep for the most part gives a very accurate performance of George. I remember watching an interview of him in prison and it has to be said deep nails him.

My favourite scene is probably George get arrested for the first time and is giving his speech to the judge.
