The Bear

Updated: Aug 11, 2021

Well what a start to a film! Just when you think you are in for a family friendly visit to the woods with Winnie the Pooh and his mom hunting for hunny bang! One rock slide later we have a dead mommy bear on our hands and the next thing you know baby bear is having an acid flashback about some fucked up frogs!

I’m not gonna lie I loved this film it had hardly any humans in it so that helped! It has basically the same formula for almost every Disney film! Orphaned kid goes on an adventure and along the way gains a new family. Throw in some trippy stop motion scenes a bit of blood and gore and your done!

What the film dose convey well is the brutality of the natural world. Kill to live and only the strong or lucky survive. Evan man has his part to play, the Hunter gatherer. Bear skins are the prize but will the bear survive? Well I’ll let you watch that to find out.

I thought the ending of the film was a bit wet as the humans left. I was hoping to see a bit more of a fight between the cat and the baby bear but it was on the whole a wholesome ending to a charming little film

I liked the way the humans left with a new found respect for the bears.
