Ok then, it’s the second time watching this film and I’ve got to say I found the experience much more enjoyable this time. Not to say it was bad the first time but it got a little hard to follow the first time round with all the Russian names that sounded very similar.
I found the first half of the film much more entertaining than the second, as the second half consists of the characters mainly scheming and plotting behind everyone else’s backs.
My favourite scene is definitely at the start when the whole orchestra has to re-do there performance just because Stalin wanted a recording of the performance that he heard on the radio. Chaos ensues!
Overall a good film with some brilliant performances from Jeffrey Tambor, Steve Buscemi, Michael Palin and Jason Isaacs.
Also Paddy Considine and Paul Whitehouse had some minor but memorable moments.
I found Stalin’s children’s scene’s to be a bit annoying and over acted. I guess I got what they we’re going for characters that were completely out of touch with reality, but still it felt forced.
Also I very much enjoyed watching this at the cinema for a private screening, despite not having popcorn! Thanks Bones 👍🏻

This is the second time I've read you need to watch it twice, which tells me this film is actually shite. My favourite scene was the same as yours Geoff, that was good I will admit, but the rest, meh...
